This is fantastic. I hope that these teenagers sharing their story also encourages their peers to be understanding and supportive of their classmates instead of highlighting and tormenting each other because of their differences.

Tara Generation Y = Cotton Wool kids. Social Media is to blame, these kids must understand what they are getting into before engaging in social media. We all must take action for our decisions good or bad, it’s the way of life no different than 30 years ago when I was a teenager. I had to fist fight to earn a reputation, now full grown boys cry to each other. We are creating a generation of weak men

Gary, Barwon Heads As a parent of three teenagers, I think this is a fantastic idea! It’s a great opportunity for teenagers to realise that many other teenagers are thinking about, or dealing with, similar ideas and issues as themselves. It may also help many parents understand the issues faced by our teenagers today. I’m sure only good things can come from this idea, and I would love to see this program as part of the curriculum in all secondary schools.

Impressed, Corio Well done Belmont High School for taking this initiative. It’s great to see teenagers sharing their thoughts and opinions. It can be difficult coping with parent separations, bullying, exclusion and being judged. It’s important to talk to people you know and respect. It’s also interesting to read what students at BHS enjoy. Hopefully we’ll see more of this.

Jacqui, Point Lonsdale Gary from Barwon Heads – What does a man look like in your eyes? I think there are lots of pressures on teenagers today, different to what you would have experienced 30 years ago. I amvery interested to know why you think men must engage in physical violence to prove their self-worth. Tara
