DEAKIN University is searching for about 140 children to take part in an ongoing study about how much salt they consume.
TWO women were hurt and a man was charged after a high-speed pursuit across the city early yesterday.
Geelong police Sgt Gavin Mullens said the trio was intercepted near the corner of Gordon Ave and the Princes Highway, Geelong, soon before 1am after their vehicle hit traffic lights.
Sgt Mullens said police had earlier tried to pull over a white Holden Commodore sedan near the corner of Shannon Ave and Church St, Geelong West, before the pursuit began.
‘‘The car took off and police were involved in an approximate threeminute pursuit along Shannon Ave, down Autumn St and around to Gordon Ave before the vehicle collided with traffic lights,’’ he said.
‘‘ A 24- year- old and 28-year-old female, both of Geelong, were taken to Geelong Hospital with minor injuries and the male conveyed to Geelong Police Station where he was interviewed and charged.’’
A man, 22, was charged with traffic and theft- related offences and has been bailed to a later date.
