Children take a global view
SCHOOLCHILDREN yesterday took the weight of the world on their shoulders in a forum modelled on a United Nations conference.
Dr Viviana Golding, from the Department of Education, said they represented countries, such as Nauru and Malaysia, and learned to appreciate different points of view from their own.
Two students from North Geelong Secondary College also addressed the conference about their experiences in refugee camps near Burma.
Grades 5 and 6 pupils from Geelong East Primary School, Lismore Primary School and Teesdale Primary School took part in the event at City Hall.
