Duck in for a true fam­ily treat

THE 2012 Royal Gee­long Show kicks off to­day with a host of good old-fash­ioned en­ter­tain­ment for the whole fam­ily.

This year’s show is the 155th run­ning of the four-day event, with day one fea­tur­ing dis­plays and demon­stra­tions and the school concert band com­pe­ti­tion, which starts at 9.30am.

The Gee­long Show is the big­gest in coun­try Vic­to­ria and again will fea­ture spec­tac­u­lar fire- works dis­plays to­mor­row and on Satur­day night be­fore the event con­cludes at 5pm on Sun­day.

Gates open at 9.30am to­day and ad­mis­sion is $20 for adults, $15 con­ces­sion and $ 12 for students.

Chil­dren un­der age seven are ad­mit­ted free and fam­ily passes cost $50.
