Driver caught twice
A STEIGLITZ man with a suspended jail sentence has appeared in court after being nabbed twice in three days for driving while suspended.
Geelong Magistrates’ Court was told that on each occasion the car being driven by Nathaniel Allinson was unregistered. Allinson, 23, of Steiglitz-Meredith Rd, pleaded guilty yesterday to two counts each of driving while suspended and driving an unregistered car.
Police prosecutor leading Sen-Constable Kerrie Moroney, said about 4.36pm on May 25, Allinson was driving in Kelly Rd, Bannockburn, when stopped by police.
‘‘He admitted being a suspended driver and that his car was unregistered,’’ she said. He was caught again on May 28. Amanda Hurst, f or Allinson, said the threemonth jail sentence suspended for 12 months was imposed on Allinson in September last year.
She said Allinson became addicted to heroin after his brother’s suicide in 2009 but had recently taken steps to get his life back on track.
Magistrate Stephen Myall adjourned the matter to December 14.
