Superman Returns GO! 8.30pm, M (2006)

After a two-decade break from the big screen, the Man of Steel made a flaccid return to the superhero profession in this rendering by Bryan Singer ( X-Men,

Valkyrie). The tights-clad saviour (played by Brandon Routh) returns from outer space to Metropolis and must re-adjust to life on Earth after a five-year absence. Superman’s true love Lois Lane (Kate Bosworth) now has a new beau (James Marsden) and young son, and an embittered Lex Luthor (Kevin Spacey) has set in motion an outlandish scheme to exact revenge on his nemesis. Bosworth is woefully miscast and you get tired of Spacey’s antics after five minutes.
