Towns in path of WA blaze
A BUSHFIRE threatening lives and homes in West Australia’s south doubled in size overnight yesterday.
The fire, which was yesterday heading straight for the townships of Northcliffe and Windy Harbour, burned through more than 22,000ha on Tuesday night, bringing the destruction to a total of 48,000ha.
Residents in Northcliffe and the subdivisions of Parkview, Bracken Rise and Double Bridge were told their town sites were “undefendable” and they must leave.
