CITY of Greater Geelong staff have been told not to speak about bullying with each other or to the media, according to an anonymous source.

The person said there had been a meeting held and workers at a council site had been told they “were forbidden to discuss any workplace bullying or to name names’’.

It’s understood the meeting was told workplace bullying was a minor issue affecting only 1 per cent of workers.

According to a council spokeswoman, such a meeting had not been sanctioned by management.

“No directives were given by management for such a meeting to be held,’’ the spokeswoman said.

The spokeswoman said she did not know of the alleged meeting.
