Olympics bomshell
VETERAN sports administrator Michael Scott has dropped an Olympics bombshell, leaving Swimming Australia to become Rowing Australia chief executive.
Scott said the opportunity was too good to ignore.
He goes from being a high performance director to CEO.
It is a stunning move, coming 18 months before the Rio Games and involving two Olympic sports that are in the midst of rallying from poor London Games campaigns.
“I am a career sports professional and . . . opportunities like this don’t come up every day,” Scott said.
“It was difficult to say no — to be the CEO of a major national sporting body, for a career sports professional, is something that really attracts me to the role.”
