GP Governator back in town with a dash of Spice
A SPICE Girl and an old-time Hollywood action hero could be the star attractions off the racetrack at this year’s Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.
Singer Geri Halliwell and movie star turned former California Governator Arnold Shwarzenegger top the VIP invite list for the Albert Park race, which roars into town from March 12-15.
Schwarzenegger will be in Melbourne at the time and is almost certain to be trackside to cheer on Aussie hope Daniel Ricciardo, whose Red Bull boss Christian Horner is engaged to former Spice Girl Halliwell. Horner said he hoped Halliwell would join him in Melbourne for the major event. “She loves Australia,’’ he said.
Englishman Horner, tipped by some to replace F1 tsar Bernie Ecclestone, 84, when he eventually retires, has been dating the artist formerly known as Ginger Spice since March last year.
Schwarzenegger will be in Melbourne for the three-day Arnold Classic Australia from March 13, which includes bodybuilding, martial arts and bikini competitions.
