SURF COAST ON BOARD WITH BEST

AUSTRALIA definitely leads the world when it comes to boardriders’ clubs and the developmental programs they provide.

Around the country boardriders clubs have existed for the best part of 50 years and they are now stronger than ever.

In Newcastle last weekend they celebrated the annual Australian Boardriders Battle, which is two full days of gruelling competition to decide club rankings.

Not surprisingly, Central Coast NSW power club Avoca won this year’s battle with a team that included established professionals Adrian Buchan, Matt Wilkinson and Wade Carmichael. They defeated Snapper Rocks in the final.

Torquay Boardriders again represented Victoria and came in a respectable 17th overall.
