Cancer is just the latest health battle for the Grovedale woman who has also suffered through many other complications including three heart surgeries and melanoma and also has often-crippling multiple sclerosis. Despite this she remains one determined woman.

Her interests don’t end with sport and the e creative arts, Justine has also tried her had at politics and was a candidate for the Seat of Corio, representing the Australian Sex Party in the 2013 federal election, where she fought for disabled rights.

“I’ve always taught my children that if you believe in something you need to stand up and try and fix it, don’t just sit back and whinge,” Justine said.

“I’ve always tried to lead by example in that sense.”
