Victoria to set full-strength Bareena a task

- MATT FLAPPER PREMIER

BAREENA will be at full strength for the final home-andaway match before Christmas for a trip down the Midland Highway to take on in-form Victoria.

Looking for its fourth consecutive win, Victoria will hope to use its home ground advantage to gain an edge against the competition benchmark.

“We have set a goal to win all our home games, so far so good, and Bareena — who are clearly the benchmark — will be a great test,” Victoria president Paul Tudorovic said.

Victoria made a statement last week, dominating fellow Ballarat contender Sebastopol to win by 33 shots, and will carry that mo- mentum into tomorrow’s clash.

“We made one change from last week’s team, John Jackson is out and Andrea Tudorovic has come in leading for Barry Clark,” Tudorovic said.

“This will be her first game in Premier division, we played Bareena in Round 1 at Bareena and lost by seven. We are keen to turn that around with a win.”

Bareena will be keen to finish 2017 in top spot with eight wins.

Chairman of selectors Dan Priddle said his side was ready for the next challenge.

“This year we are very lucky to have plenty of depth,” he said.

“Week in, week out we are trying to turn our top 10 players into 16. One thing I know is that the 16 selected will be ready to go.

“Victoria at home is dangerous, they win a lot of games at home, we beat them in Round 1 by seven on our green, and it’s another challenge we will tackle head on, another great test for us as a group.”

In other games, City of Geelong takes on Sebastopol, Eastern Park will be keen for a win against Queenscliff at home. Lara takes on BMS and Ocean Grove needs to respond against Webbcona after back-to-back losses.
