Having practised law for more than 20 years, Mr Dribbin has extensive experience as a criminal defence lawyer.
He said the new office in Geelong was an amazing opportunity for the business to be able to extend its reach.
“This is an exciting new chapter for our firm,” Mr Dribbin said.
“We very much look forward to servicing the needs of the local Geelong people now and well into the future and continuing to assist in our clients in procuring the best possible outcomes, in their matters.”
The other founding partner of the firm, Michael Brown, has been practising as a criminal defence lawyer for more than 10 years.
Mr Brown l is also an accredited Specialist in Criminal Law (Law Institute of Victoria) and possesses an outstand- ing forensic judgment and commitment to detail and service.
Mr Brown gained his substantial experience in criminal law, through earlier volunteering his services at community legal centres and later acquired many years of previous practise in a wide and varied range of criminal law matters, including serious indictable matters.
Regularly praised by his clients for “going the extra mile”, Mr Brown is passionate in the handling of his clients’ matters and is delighted that the residents of Geelong can now be represented by the firm.
“Our team at Dribbin & Brown leave no stone unturned in pursuit of the best possible outcomes for our clients,” Mr Brown said.
“Our Geelong office will be able to assist our clients in a range of criminal defence matters and know that we are a firm that can be trusted.”
The firm’s Geelong-based criminal defence lawyer, Simon O’Halloran, has worked for a year in commercial practice, before moving to the Victoria Legal Aid office based in Geelong.
Mr O’Halloran was the Young Lawyer Representative for the Law Society in 2015 and previously volunteered at the Hume Riverina Community Legal Centre to assist dis- advantaged clients. He joined Dribbin & Brown in 2017 to assist with the running of the Geelong office and the partners believe him to be a great asset to the practise.
“His time working at the Geelong Magistrates’ Court has provided him invaluable experience in dealing in criminal law matters and this coupled with his regular attendances at courts in surrounding areas, his integrity and personality, contribute towards making Simon a highly competent and reliable criminal defence lawyer,” Mr Dribbin said.
