For the love of Kane
AN outpouring of community support has flowed for Newcomb cancer patient Kane Wolter, with a fundraiser to be held for him this weekend.
The show of support has seen holidays, sport memorabilia, hospitality vouchers and a plethora of other auction items donated for the event at The Commo (Commun Na Feine) Hotel.
Mr Wolter was dealt a cruel hand last year when, weeks be- fore he was due to marry his now-wife Sian, he was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer.
“We’re really overwhelmed with the support. We didn’t or- ganise this. I’m stunned, I just burst into tears after reading all the support on Facebook,” Mr Wolter’s wife, Sian, said.
Football gear signed by Dustin Martin, a bed-and- breakfast package in Queenscliff, Little Creatures Brewery vouchers and boxing gloves signed by Jeff Fenech have been donated for the event.
Ms Wolter said the money raised would be put towards supporting her husband and the couple’s two children, who are both under five years old.
To donate to the event, which will begin at 2.30pm Sunday, call Tamara on 0476 889 377.
