Lose yourself in family festival

- Kim Tom Lonergan

YOU’VE got to feel for Carmen from St Leonards who missed out on $30,000 on Thursday by answering the phone with a polite “hello” instead of the magic words “I wake up with Today” for the breakfast show’s popular cash call competition. THE second Lost Lands Music and Arts Festival, brain child of Falls Festival founder Simon Daly, has been announced. The two-day family friendly event will take place at Werribee Park on November 3 and 4. The festival offers a weekend with a jam-packed program of creative activities and entertainment for adults and kids. The music line-up features festival favourites and emerging talent from across the spectrum, providing the perfect soundtrack for your Cup weekend. Already announced are The Jungle Giants, New Zealand favourite Tim Finn, indie rock band You Am I, award-winning singer- songwriter Kate MillerHeidke, master storyteller Clare Bowditch and Arnhem Land rapper Baker Boy.

Sharing the stage with them will be Geelong talent Alice Ivy.

Amazing tunes won’t be the only thing on offer with installations, arts programs, comedy, performance, theatre and dedicated wonder ‘Lands’.

The festival will be brought to life by experienced creatives in Daly and former St Kilda Festival Director David Strong.

Tickets, available through thelostlands.com.au, went on sale at 9am yesterday.

Prices range from $25$170, with options for child and adult day passes and camping.
