Sick state of affairs

Readers felt a mixture of shock and anger after the decision to close Geelong Private Hospital was announced on Tuesday.

This is sad. I’ve had great care and attention at this hospital following many surgeries. I hope all the wonderful staff get jobs in the other great hospitals in Geelong. Denise Simons

Feel for the staff. Geelong has two other private hospitals and only the one public one. Isn’t it time for a second public hospital, or at least expand the existing hospital? It would make sense to move certain services across the road and offer more beds etc. But I am not confident that the Federal and State government can work together to sort this out.
