Boak’s undies a brief tribute to his father

-

TORQUAY-BRED AFL champ Travis Boak has named his new underwear line after his legendary father, Roger.

Roger passed away when Travis was 16. It’s not the first thing to be named after the much-loved man.

Torquay Football Club named its change rooms after Roger, who was a huge part of the club. Travis played for Torquay as a junior.

It was a search for the perfect pair of undies that led him to his current venture. The Port Adelaide Football Club captain, 29, has been working on the project for three years.

“I could never find a pair that I loved, whether it be for sport or going out,” he explained. “I have been through a few pairs of undies (over the years) but I am super picky with everything ... This took a few years to come up with something I could wear nonstop and it be as comfy in six months time as it is today.”

The result is his own underwear range, Rogers, for men and women, which he’s launching online.

“I wanted the business to be based around who dad was as a person,” he explained. “But also what I love, fashion and clothing. We went with underwear because I’d never found the perfect pair of undies.”

While Boak is at his best on the footy field, he found posing as a model in his undies a daunting prospect.

“I was so nervous,” he laughed. “It was way out of my comfort zone but really fun.”

Naturally fit and in good shape for work, Boak didn’t need to do any extra work to get himself ready for the shoot.

“I do manscape. I hate having hair on my body so I keep it all trim. I shave my legs before every game anyway so I was doing all that anyway.”

The perfect pair of underwear, he said, is “something you don’t even know you are wearing when you are wearing them.”
