Win will keep eight in reach

-

A TOUGH weekend awaits the Lady Supercats with a host of stars set to miss tonight’s clash with the Frankston Blues.

Coming off the back of a crucial win on the road to Albury last Saturday night, the Lady Supercats would have hoped to charge into the clash with the bottom-placed Blues outfit with confidence.

But a quick trip to Canada to celebrate her college graduation for Ellen Kett and a mid-season break for Isabella Brancatisano has been exacerbated with Alex Duck suffering tonsillitis and Maddy Brancatisano injuring her hamstring at football training on Wednesday night.

David Herbert’s team will need to play at its best to get over the Blues.

Herbert is wary of a Frankston outfit that now boasts two imports and a number of other quality players, including former Supercat Stacey Barr who sits second on the SEABL points average ladder with an impressive 24.8 points per game average.

“They’re going to be tough,” Herbert said.

“They beat a full strength COE team by 40 last weekend and with Barr, Ross and Richards all firing we are going to have to play a full four-quarter game to get the result.”

Currently sitting 11th on the SEABL ladder, the Lady Supercats will need to find a way to get over Frankston this weekend to remain in touch with the top eight.
