Just an idea, but how about we start teaching people how to drive properly rather than teaching them how to pass a basic driving test? Karl Misso

Should have mandatory defensive driving in school. Teejay Tait

Been saying it should be taught in schools for years — not by teachers, by police. Donna Kelly

Start with fixing the roads. Sean Woods

I’d like to see technology that blocks mobile phones unless the car is switched off. Jeynelle Dean-Hayes

If your bluetooth is connected to your car, it should be switched off. Taylor R Moore

Maybe if idiots stopped treating public roads like a racetrack, and fellow drivers as objects in their way, we might stand a chance. Mathew Turner

Ironic that it’s also the home of the TAC. Jeff Paull

Can’t just blame drivers. A lot of people are walking around with these bloody headphones in, oblivious of their surroundings — have witnessed this many times. Try and be more aware of your surroundings, everyone, nobody wants to see you get hurt. Geoff Hogan

Stupid drivers, and here’s a thought — maybe, just maybe, the awful condition of the roads may play a part. Lauren Parmenter
