Meghan’s royal tour schedule pared back

-

THE pregnant Duchess of Sussex was out on the water with Prince Harry to watch the Invictus Games sailing yesterday after taking a break earlier in the day.

She is expected to scale back some of her engagements for the next couple of days as she and Harry head into the second week of their packed 16-day tour. Meghan skipped an event yesterday morning after a late night at the Invictus Games opening in Sydney, leaving Harry to step out solo for the first time. The royal couple’s tour, which started last Tuesday, has included long days in Dubbo and Melbourne.

Meghan has made mention of jet lag a couple of times during events. Last week at Bondi she told a wellwisher she had been up at 4.30am doing yoga.

Prince Harry and Meghan are due to fly to Queensland’s Fraser Island today before heading to Tonga and Fiji. However, Meghan’s participation on Fraser Island is up in the air.

Kensington Palace said the couple decided to cut back Meghan’s schedule before their visit to Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand.

“After a busy program, the Duke and Duchess have decided to cut back the Duchess’s schedule slightly for the next couple of days, ahead of the final week-and-a-half of the tour,” read an official statement.

Prince Harry officially opened the Invictus Games at the Opera House on Saturday night after a wild electrical storm delayed proceedings by more than an hour.

After skipping the cycling events yesterday morning, Meghan joined Harry at the Prime Minister’s Invictus lunchtime reception.

After visiting Fiji and Tonga, the royal couple will return to Sydney on Friday night for the final days of the games, then visit New Zealand.
