CUTTING-EDGE SKILLS DARYL’S AMOWZING TECHNIQUE

- JACOB GRAMS

THE jobs most people shirk from are the ones Daryl Millar relishes and his hill-mowing technique is the stuff of legend at Barwon River Holiday Park.

The long-time resident (pictured) does odd jobs around the park, including wrangling the stretchy rope around the mower to keep the Barrabool Rd frontage looking a treat. Barwon River Holiday Park manager Marc Garrow said the shy Mr Millar was an asset to the park, which is preparing for a bumper summer season full of visitors.

“He works for us a certain amount of hours per week. He cleans the amenities blocks and he actually enjoys mowing those banks, which is good... because it’s actually hard work,” he said.

“Daryl’s taken that on in the last 12 months and while he’s enjoying it I’ll leave him to it.”

Mr Garrow said Christmas bookings were looking promising and Geelong had plenty of events to keep him chock-a-block.
