North Geelong set for big chase

NORTH Geelong has an uphill battle to earn its third victory of the season, chasing 330 at St Joseph’s College Oval.

The Magpies’ bowlers battled on the opening day, with Leigh Kentish proving an irresistible force, smashing an unbeaten 145 from 131 balls.

Kentish was well supported by Mitch McMullan, who contributed 62 in his maiden first XI match of the season.

Shaun Kingwell was the best of the North bowlers with three wickets, but now it’s up to the batters to perform.
