Second straight victory for Lani
champion paddleboarder, would return to the race next year.
“Harriet and I are good competitors,” Pallister said.
“She’s such a lovely person and she had always supported me. I’ve always looked up to her and I’ve watched her race the ironman series my entire life, so racing against her is one of my highlights.”
Having also secured the junior women’s crown earlier in the day, Pallister admitted she was fatigue after swimming 2.4km for the day.
“I’m a little bit buggered,” she said.
“My legs and arms are dying a bit, but I’m really, really happy to finish the race and come away with a good result.”
Now on the honour board for a second time, Pallister was overjoyed.
“I came down and I was a little bit nervous because I really didn’t know what to expect,” he said.
“Last year was my first year and I didn’t know who was swimming, and this year I wasn’t sure who I’d be up against considering Harriet (Brown) had foot surgery.
“But I’m really happy with how it all went. Obviously it’s such a prestigious event, so I’m stoked.”
