More runs for O’Neill as Lions roar again

SEAN O’Neill took his season’s tally to 542 runs on the back of a blistering 112-ball 134, as the Lions comfortably accounted for the Sharks by 96 runs at Winter Reserve.

Matt Lineker (48), Andrew Baars (33) and Tom Elliot (29) provided support to O’Neill’s commanding innings as the hosts mounted an imposing 8-280. Tight lines from East ensured City fell behind the rate early in their reply and, despite the valour of Richie Oliver (69), Luke Inglis (23) and Chris Bambury (22), the visitors couldn’t prevent East from securing a seventh win. New-ball bowler Alex Willerton (pictured) was best rewarded with 4-22, while Dylan McMahon captured 2-47.
