HOSPITAL STAFF A RAY OF LIGHT IN TRYING TIMES

-

My dad, Alan, was lifted by angels last week into another life where there is no pain or suffering.

He had spent the last few weeks in Baxter Five Wing at University Hospital Geelong. He was 88.

Even in our grief I wanted to share with the Geelong community how wonderfully he was cared for and to ensure everyone knows what a spe- cial facility you have in this hospital.

The kindness, compassion and loving care he was shown left me astounded.

The staff work so hard (as I am sure all staff do within this wonderful hospital).

Blessings to each and every one of you who cared for Dad, whether you served his food or cleaned his room or cared for his medical needs.

And to the special cafeteria staff who always had a smile for me when I bought one of their delicious coffees — bless you, too.

As my Dad said, “You can’t stop the march of time”, and indeed we can’t …

However, if his legacy is that I can share with you all how truly inspiring this hospital is — and our heartfelt appreciation — then that can only be a special thing.

I just know he would want you to know, too. Name withheld
