TWO MEN DROWN IN NSW

TWO men have drowned in separate incidents in NSW, with a snorkeller losing his life near the popular Kiama Blowhole tourist attraction and a swimmer dying near Forster.

The 33-year-old snorkeller drowned near the blowhole after midday yesterday, a NSW Ambulance spokesman said.

Four people are believed to have been snorkellin­g in the water when the man got into difficulty, police said.

He was winched from the water but could not be revived.

Another man was taken to Shellharbo­ur Hospital following the incident and two other people were treated at the scene.

Less than two hours later on NSW’s midnorth coast, another man drowned while swimming at Boomerang Beach near Forster.

The man in his 60s was pulled from the water unconsciou­s and could not be revived, a NSW Ambulance spokeswoma­n said.
