As the presenter of this two-part documentary on London’s Underground rail network, Rob Bell has the perfect engineering background, but he also has a truckload of passion. It’s a hard task not to be swept up by Bell’s unbridled enthusiasm as he explores one of Britain’s greatest engineering feats. In tonight’s concluding episode, Bell explores the construction of the busiest of all Tube lines – the Central Line, which runs through central London, serving 49 stations over 74km. As he meets engineers and gets an insider’s look at its assembly line, the “subterranean spaghettti junction” is a sight to behold.
