- TESSA HAYWARD

A BREATHTAKING Jan Juc property has smashed the suburb’s price record by more than $1 million.

Great Ocean Properties, Torquay agent Marty Maher said the deal was secured within the $5.25 million to $5.75 million asking range before the expressions of interest campaign was scheduled to close on January 31.

The Corelogic sales record in Jan Juc is $4.25 million for 8 Rip View Close last year, while the record for the Surf Coast — $4.8 million for 57 George St, Lorne — has also been smashed.

“The buyers already own property in the area so it is a trade up.”

The 4901sq m property has a four-bedroom house, that looks like it was inspired by sails, surrounded by sweeping lawns, native gardens and a back gate that hat joins the Surf Coast Walk.

The house was built in the early 1990s and has terracotta otta tiles throughout, a bidet in n the main bathroom and custom venetian blinds.

Mr Maher said the property was “architecturally iconic with stunning ocean and breaking surf views”.

“When you are in the residence, all main rooms capture the stunning view and you cannot see another property,” he said. d.

“What is even more important is that you never er will … it feels like you own all the land in front of you right ght down to the ocean.”
