RHYS SPREADS WORD ON KIDS’ WARD

- TAMARA McDONALD

GEELONG ruckman Rhys Stanley has joined teammate Scott Selwood as the newest ambassador for the Barwon Health Foundation.

Over four seasons at the Cats, Stanley has regularly visited Geelong hospital as part of the team’s monthly tours of the children’s ward and Andrew Love Cancer Centre.

After seeing children’s health services benefit from fundraising, he was inspired to become an ambassador for the foundation.

The ruckman and his wife, Kirsten, welcomed their son Jagger in February last year.

“As a dad, I know how important it is to know you have somewhere nearby to come when your child is unwell or injured,” he said

“I have seen the children’s ward and the difference the community of Geelong made to this upgrade a few years ago.

“I am excited to be an ambassador for the Barwon Heath Foundation and look forward to supporting the new Kids Appeal, which is aiming to raise funds for a brand new kids rehabilitation centre in Geelong.”
