Roach on way to Anglesea

-

LEGENDARY statesman of song Archie Roach is set to perform at Anglesea next month.

Roach has enjoyed a stellar career since emerging in the early ’90s.

Perhaps best known for his heartbreaking song Took the Children Away, his music speaks the stories of his people, of the land and of the human condition.

Took the Children Away was added to the National Film and Sound Archive’s Sounds of Australia collection in 2013.

Roach has shared the stage with some of the world’s leading artists, including Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Tracy Chapman, Billy Bragg, Paul Simon, Joan Armatrading, Suzanne Vega and Patti Smith.

He will perform at the soldout event in Anglesea on March 23 at 8pm at the Anglesea Memorial Hall, 1B McMillan St, Anglesea.
