WINCHELSEA kept East Geelong at arm’s length for much of the night, posting a 12.9 (81) to 9.9 (63) win at Eastern Reserve on Saturday.

The Blues shared the goals around with nine individual goalkicker­s, as the Eagles kept pace for most of the match before Winchelsea safely edged clear in the final quarter.

Adam Stirling stood out for Winchelsea, while Jacob Ngawati was East’s best in a match where Jack Elliott kicked three goals for the second consecutiv­e week.
