DANGERFIELD POSTS GRAND DESIGNS ONLINE:
GEELONG star Patrick Dangerfield has unveiled an image of what his luxury new home will look like — and revealed he will “chronicle the build from start to finish” on social media.
The Brownlow medallist posted the render, pictured left, displaying a contemporary facade with sleek floor-toceiling windows and an alfresco deck, on Instagram yesterday.
He captioned the photo: “Let the build begin #dangerbuild #staytuned”, and tagged Geelong, Surf Coast and Bellarine-based build and design company Creative Lifestyle Homes.
The 29-year-old — who welcomed second child Felicity with his wife Mardi last month — told News Corp the house on Victoria’s Surf Coast would be “minimalist and contemporary in style”.
He expected the build to take a year.
The AFL Players’ Association president and Reel Adventures host said he planned to document the build in a web series via social media, asking his 190,000 Instagram followers to “stay tuned”.
“We have taken so much inspiration from social media, so we thought it would be a fun place to share it,” he said. “We will do a proper mini episode probably once a month, or when there is something significant that happens. But we will update small videos on a weekly basis.”
The post comes after Dangerfield lodged a planning permit application with the Surf Coast Shire last year, to build a $1.2 million modern masterpiece at his Moggs Creek property.
The council website states the permit was issued this February. The Dangerfields paid $2.08 million for the beachside 1507sq m property in 2016, and have lived there in an existing two-storey brick veneer house with son George.
The champion midfielder has shared several updates about his build on Instagram, including posting a photo of his “mood board” of materials for the home’s walls, benchtops, floors, ceilings, cladding and decking in May.
His former teammate George Horlin-Smith, now at the Gold Coast Suns, was among those to comment on his latest post, asking: “Helicopter pad got through?”
Dangerfield replied: “Yep. But limited hours no taking off before 7am and no landing after 10pm. It’s like it’s Adelaide airport.”
