The massive amount of money some schools have received from governments can be revealed after an independent compilation of figures from the MySchool website.

Northern Bay P-12 College in Corio received more money from government coffers than any other school in the region, receiving $95.2 million over the three most recently availgovernment funding per student of any school in the Geelong region, according to the data.

The school, which had 191 students in 2017, received $24,257 in government funding for each child, according to MySchool.

However, the data includes funding for the Geelong English Language Centre, located next to the school, which is not allocated Bell Park North students.

Newcomb Secondary College received $20,443 for each of its 191 students in 2017, the Geelong region’s second highest funding per student, the data says.

Over 2015, 2016 and 2017 financial years, St Joseph’s College spent $18.9 million on capital expenditure, more than any other school in the Geelong region.

Over that same three-year period Kardinia International College spent $14.6 million on capital expenditure, the region’s second highest.
