Key man in estate design to bow out

-

FOR 30 years the engineering consultancy now known as CardnoTGM has supported Lara property developer Bisinella Developments in developing its residential estates around the region.

Initially known as Thoms & Partners, the consultancy managed Bisinella’s civil engineering, surveying and town planning for its first residential estate — Forest Park Estate in Lara in 1989 — and the relationship has been maintained in every one of Bisinella’s estate developments in the Geelong region since.

Licensed surveyor and CardnoTGM principal, Ray Dunn, who joined the business in 1987, has been there from the beginning, working with Bisinella Developments managing director Lino Bisinella.

But now Mr Dunn is about to retire.

Mr Bisinella said the long relationship with Mr Dunn had been built on mutual trust and total confidence in his ability and that of his staff.

“He is a consummate professional whose advice and skills have been invaluable to our business,” Mr Bisinella said.

“We are extremely grateful for his wonderful service and wish him all the best in retirement.”

In 1995 TGM Group was formed with the merger of Thoms & Partners and two other leading engineering and surveying consulting practices. In 2018 the business was bought by Cardno Australia and is now called CardnoTGM.

CardnoTGM is one of the biggest engineering consultancies in the Geelong and Ballarat regions, employing 135 people including 55 in Geelong. It offers engineering, surveying and town planning services.

Mr Dunn said the relationship with Bisinella had been valuable and rewarding.

“It has been an excellent relationship,” he said. “It is professional, friendly and personal. There’s a huge amount of trust and respect both ways.”
