Major roads in line for upgrades
SECTIONS of some of Geelong’s major roads will be fixed up after a cash injection from the State Government.
Parts of the Hamilton Highway, Surf Coast Highway, Aberdeen St and FyansfordGheringhap Rd will benefit from the statewide $58 million allocation for road maintenance and resurfacing works.
More than 6km of Geelong
Bacchus Marsh Rd, 3km of the Midland Highway and Anglesea Rd will also undergo work.
South Barwon MP Darren Cheeseman said: “Whether it’s tradies on the ground or workers in the supply chain — we’re upgrading Torquay Rd and Anglesea Rd to support Victorian workers and give drivers a smoother journey.”
Western Victoria MP Gayle Tierney said: “By upgrading Fyansford-Gheringhap Rd,
Cobden-Stoneyford Rd, the Hamilton Highway and the Surf Coast Highway, we’re not only providing more jobs for Victorian workers, we’re supporting local businesses too.”
Geelong MP Christine Couzens said: “We’re upgrading Aberdeen St to support Victorian workers and give drivers a smoother journey — this means jobs for tradies, labourers, and workers in the supply chain.”
