Online seniors festival extended

-

THE Victorian Seniors Festival is returning but in a new digital format to be streamed directly into the homes of Victoria’s one million seniors.

Disability, Ageing and Carers Minister Luke Donnellan recently launched the festival, which has been transformed to ensure seniors stay connected.

Due to the current coronavirus restrictions, the 38th annual celebration of older

Victorians has been revised, with the month-long festival now a six-month online extravaganza.

The festival will deliver three broadcasts each week, showcasing some of Australia’s leading talent, along with stories recognising and celebrating seniors across the state.

With broadcasts of online events and activities, seniors will be treated to music, standup comedy, Bollywood dancing and more — all from the comfort of their own homes.

This year’s festival theme “In the groove” is a call for all older Victorians to embrace the new opportunities on offer in the festival, which will run through to October.
