Fears for local clubs
“If you turn around and say the season is canned, some guys will lose their fitness base and some guys won’t be bothered to play again.”
With other sports beginning to start again, O’Toole was adamant junior football needed to start to curb the risk of losing youngsters.
“We somehow need to make an effort to get some footy up and I think junior footy is even more important than senior footy,” he said.
“Premiership points are irrelevant, it’s more about getting kids out there and participating.
“The community needs local football and especially junior football. I think it’s so important and I am really concerned.”
