SALEYARDS FULL OF FOND BYGONE MEMORIES

THE article regarding the proposed development of the Geelong Saleyards (GA 26/5) brings back memories of growing up in West Melbourne Rd (now Shannon Ave) and on a Sunday seeing sheep being herded to the saleards.

I would always go to the front gate to watch this.

West Melbourne Rd then had a sealed strip in the centre of the road, each side was unsealed, with large puddles after rain.
