A NEW conference will explore innovation in the disability sector this April on the Surf Coast.

The Changemakers conference is presented by the Kids Plus Foundation, a Geelong-based organisation that provides specialist programs for young people with neuro-developmental conditions. Changemakers are described as individuals committed to advancing the common good, wherever they operate.

Kids Plus Foundation said this was relevant for community-based disability service providers and researchers to ensure best practice and innovative design within developmental disability. Presentations will include:

with lived experience of disability presenting from their perspective to inform change in the future direction of services and therapy;

from experienced leaders in the field who have experienced changing practices in paediatric disability services with a vision for the future; and,

health clinicians presenting about innovative programs that can be directly implemented in clinical practice.

The conference will be held at the RACV Torquay Resort on April 22 and 23. For details, visit kidsplus.org.au/ conference
