Living with disabilities
EMERGE Living has teamed with genU to ensure people living with disability have the opportunity to live more independently in modern and accessible housing.
An educational Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) event hosted by Emerge Living and genU will educate attendees about SDA, including the SDA market and how to apply for funding, how to complete an application, options for in-home support, and SDA projects and sites in development.
The event, on Friday from 10.45am-1.30pm at Rydges Geelong, will feature speakers from the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and independent SDA specialists.

A NEW conference will explore innovation in the disability sector this April on the Surf Coast.
The Changemakers conference is presented by the Kids Plus Foundation, a Geelong-based organisation that provides specialist programs for young people with neuro-developmental conditions. Changemakers are described as individuals committed to advancing the common good, wherever they operate.
Kids Plus Foundation said this was relevant for community-based disability service providers and researchers to ensure best practice and innovative design within developmental disability. Presentations will include:
with lived experience of disability presenting from their perspective to inform change in the future direction of services and therapy;
from experienced leaders in the field who have experienced changing practices in paediatric disability services with a vision for the future; and,
health clinicians presenting about innovative programs that can be directly implemented in clinical practice.
The conference will be held at the RACV Torquay Resort on April 22 and 23. For details, visit kidsplus.org.au/ conference
