LAUGHTER BY THE SHEDFUL
GEELONG will roll out the red carpet for Dave O’Neil when he makes his Potato Shed debut this month.
The celebrated comedian and radio host said talking about the past year in lockdown had been “cathartic” for audiences.
“A whole lot of my year was going to Kmart on a Wednesday night,” he said. “It’s something everyone can relate to, especially Victorians.”
O’Neil, who holds the record for most guest appearances on the ABC music quiz show Spicks and Specks, said the team had recently reunited to film episodes set to air later this year.
“There was a guy who just followed me around with a 1.5m social distancing stick,” he said. “But it was great to be back with everyone.”
A Melbourne International Comedy Festival regular, O’Neil will be joined on the night by comedians Brad Oakes and Fred Rowan.
O’Neil, whose wife is from Geelong, said he always had a “fantastic” time performing in the regional hub.
“I’ve got a couple of Geelong jokes up my sleeve,” he said.
O’Neil will perform his show
Live … ly at the Potato Shed on March 28 from 8pm and tickets are limited.
