New study on Grove flooding
OCEAN Grove residents are being asked to identify highrisk flooding areas and share their experiences with stormwater issues in the region as part of a detailed study.
The City of Greater Geelong project will help the council and other relevant authorities better understand flood, stormwater quality and water security risks in the region.
The study, which is expected to be completed in December, covers about 41sq km and includes Ocean Grove, Wallington and Point Lonsdale.
Greater Geelong Mayor Stephanie Asher said personal recollections of stormwater events would help ensure the council had a detailed picture of stormwater issues.
The investigation will help inform recommendations for infrastructure planning, emergency response, community preparedness and improvements in land use.
