STANLEY CAN’T CUT IT AS GEELONG’S RUCK
SURELY, Geelong understands that they will never win a premiership while they have Rhys Stanley as their ruckman?
If they won’t give Darcy Fort a game, they may as well play Mark Blicavs in the ruck as he is not a natural defender.
Same old story as previous years, with Geelong treading water with the same old players. I understand that a few are unavailable because of injuries or suspension. However, if they genuinely expect to challenge for a premiership they must make some hard decisions.
Gary Rohan has played in three grand finals and has barely touched the ball and yet they persist with him. What about giving some young players a chance before the remaining old champs like Selwood and Dangerfield retire? Of course, the coach is untouchable. He inherited a champion team and duly won a flag but one unsuccessful grand final appearance in the next nine years really isn’t good enough. Time is running out with the present list.

A GOOD win by Melbourne against an undermanned Geelong.
The Cats were missing several players including Patrick Dangerfield, Sam Simpson, Brandon Parfitt, Jeremy Cameron, Gary Rohan, Shaun Higgins, Esava Ratugolea and could have included Max Holmes in the starting line up. No excuses, just reasons for Geelong being 2-2.
Maybe up to nine different players will be in the side a month or so from now.
Is the great Cat era from 20042020 coming to an end sooner rather than later?

TIME TO CORRECT ADDY’S LEANINGS TO THE LEFT
READING the letters in the Addy is becoming a health hazard.
I nearly choked on my own vomit this morning when I was reading the contribution from Helen Kennedy (GA 12/4) referring to Ross Mueller as an expert in journalism.
I applaud Ross Kroger for calling Mueller out for his constant left-wing bias. I always look forward to the many Ross Kroger contributions and think he should be offered his own opinion space in this newspaper to balance out the biased views of the left.
