ARCHERY NEEDS HELP BUT MENTAL HEALTH MESSAGE ON TARGET

LONDON: Prince William and Kate showed their sporty sides as they took part in a number of activities to help celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week.

While the pair joined celebritie­s including David Beckham, Dame Shirley Bassey and Charles Dance to record positive messages to go out on radio, people just wanted to see the two popular royals in action.

They pulled on gardening glovesat Wolverhamp­ton to join a group of children in gardening to highlight the importance of nature and outdoor activities to mental health.

Kate spoke of her love of spending time in the outdoors with their children, and asked if they talked about mental health at school.

William told one group: “Catherine is very good at gardening.”

The Duchess also showed off her sporty side, as she tried an archery session but proved to be as good at that as William is at gardening.

“Terrible!” she exclaimed after missing the target. The notoriousl­y competitiv­e couple also went headto-head during a table tennis match.

“Come on Catherine!” William said as he encouraged her to join their foursome, “Catherine is really good at table tennis.”

And then the game was on. “This could go on for hours,” said William.
