ENVY HAS SPEED TO BURN
GROUP 2 West Australian Derby contender Envy To Burn arrived at David Burnett’s Little River kennels the same day ill-fated champion Simon Told Helen departed.
The 2020 Perth Cup was one of Simon Told Helen’s four G1 victories and Burnett has his sights set on another WA feature with the lightly raced Envy To Burn, winner of six from 13 starts.
Envy To Burn has drawn Box 4 in tonight’s second heat of the G2 WA Derby (Race 7) at Cannington.
“He comes out pretty hard and wants to get to the rail,” Burnett said.
“The ‘red’ (Domino Mac) equalled the track record at Mandurah a couple of weeks ago so it will be hard to beat but the aim is to run second to qualify and win the following week.”
G1 finalist Earn The Answers (Heat 1, Box 8) is the other Victorian tackling the Derby heats.
