Expert help on transition

- GEORGIA HOLLOWAY

ACCLAIMED psychologist Michael Carr-Gregg will help children and parents address and understand the challenges of transitioning out of coronavirus restrictions through an online seminar.

Dr Carr-Gregg, who specialises in youth and adolescent psychology, will speak at a free webinar hosted by Geelongbased insurer GMHBA.

The event will focus on the challenges people may face returning to their prepandemic lifestyles.

Dr Carr-Gregg said moving back to on-site working and learning, as well as juggling a busy calendar, would force people to let go of the familiar and face the future.

“Very few people are prepared for transitions, most of us ‘white-knuckle’ our way through. It doesn’t have to be that way,” he said.

Dr Carr-Gregg said he would help individuals and families understand that pain and discomfort were an invitation to grow and how to not squander the opportunity.

The free community webinar is on Wednesday October 27, from 7.30pm. For more information visit gmhba.com.au/ about/community
