CHILDREN’S WEEK STARTS THIS WEEKEND!

-

Get ready for Children’s Week, we have lots of fun-filled activities to enjoy! This year, the focus is on Delama yerram baa kale-werango, meaning Embrace with nature and outdoors in the language of the Wadawurrung People, Traditional Owners of this land.

We’re encouraging children to embrace nature by entering the Nature Faces competition, making a self-portrait from fallen leaves, branches and feathers they collect outdoors. The public will vote for their favourite entries, with all submitted photos made into an online digital faces quilt.*

There are virtual performances by The Mik Maks and magician Dazzling Dan as well as free rides on the Portarlington Bayside Miniature Railway. Children can experience the joy of planting an edible garden at Whittington Kindergarten or have a virtual singalong with Granny Lee and her ukulele!

At-home activities include art and craft kits from the National Wool Museum and Grovedale Toy Library and a Healthy at Home toolkit with hints and tips for families.

View the program and book an event via geelongaustralia.com.au/childrensweek. For the Nature Faces competition, search Nature Faces. *Terms and Conditions apply.

Events may change in line with COVID-19 restrictions, please check the program online.
