Club says: “We’re really looking forward to getting started this season. It’s been great to get back with the group in the little bits of training that we’ve been allowed to do. Format-wise I’m not fussed about whether we play ‘The Hundred’ or timeless Tests this summer. I think that we are all just going to be appreciative of being able to be back out of the house and playing cricket with and against our mates.”
Team to beat: “North Geelong.
Until someone defeats them,
North Geelong has got to be considered the team to beat.”

Never far off the pace, East Belmont must be a team in contention once again this summer, particularly considering the successful retention of its playing group. Fuelled by the disappointment of last summer’s grand final loss, the Lions will seek to find an extra edge in the hope of it carrying them to the holy grail once again. A full season from
Shane McNamara will be a massive fillip, particularly as he teams with the competition’s pre-eminent batsman, Sean O’Neill, to head an already accomplished batting line-up.
