Club says: “We have some bats that can take the game away from our opponents, so we’re looking forward to that being the case. We know we’ll have to scrap for every run and every wicket to secure the points to survive in GCA1, as we want to buck the recent trend and stay up. Having said that, it’s not just our first XI, but it’s a whole-club approach that’s required.”

A full season of one-day fixtures works well for the Panthers, particularly given their well-rounded bowling attack and the capacity of their batting line-up to generate some explosive innings. Matthew Reid’s elevation to the captaincy is just reward for a player whose game continues to develop, and it will be terrific to see him transfer his recent individual success into team governance. In addition, Tim Horan has been hitting the gym and is looking primed for more impact. Bell Post Hill hopes to carry a winning culture into further success at the top level.
