PRIME MINISTER, GET A GOOD DOSE OF REALITY

THE day after the Prime Minister visited our region for a game of pool, Scott Morrison tells a press conference “Australians have prepared themselves for rising prices”.

What is he basing this supremely arrogant assertion on?

Perhaps it’s the huge pile of “rainy day” savings people on JobKeeper stashed away over the last two years? After all, they must have saved on petrol and bus fares, even though they were paying their own power and telecoms cost while working from home.

Or maybe he meant the tidy sums stashed in the change jars and piggy banks of people on JobSeeker?

After all, they’re saving on rent while sleeping in their cars or on their mates’ spare couches.

And the foodbanks have done a great job helping them save on the grocery bills.

This Prime Minister and his government have no idea of the cost of living as it applies to most Australians.

And what’s worse, they have zero interest in finding out.
